Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre is one of, if not the most amazing place i have ever been to. Cinque Terre is a group of 5 villages on the coast and each village is literally right on the edge of cliffs. It is about 3 hours away from Milan. We left Friday morning and were just planning on going for the day. I went with my friends (left to right in the picture) Antonio, Emily, Erica, Marica, Alyssa and Garwin. Little did we know that there would be a train strike. Italy is super inefficient when it comes to doing a lot of things we take for granted and sometimes it really sucks haha! So anyway, we got on the train and halfway through the conductor comes by and says that all trains in the Tuscany region (which is where we were) are on strike. Awesome, we thought, but whatever, so we stopped in genova and it was actually a lot of fun, we stopped at a cafe and walked around the city a little bit, it was actually a nice stop. Then we got back on another train an hour later and finally got to Cinque Terre. When we got there we were all at a loss of words. It was unlike anything any of us have seen before. All these villages where literally on the cliffs in front of the sea surrounded by mountains and it was so amazing. We started our hike, which was a 5 hour hike that would take us to all the 5 villages; Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso al Mare. The hike was so amazing. We had the most amazing views ever and it was a really good workout because a lot of the trails were up hill and it was just such an amazing day. You all know me and how i love to find little secret areas and i found a path that led down to a beach and we all went and went into the ocean a little and found just all these cool little areas. I wish you guys could see this place because it is honestly unreal. You can't feel anything but happiness when you look at these views, it was so amazing, and i would go back over and over again. When we finally got to the last town we all felt so accomplished and had a really nice dinner and just had the best time ever. Then we got onto the train back home and had another crazy adventure on our way home because of the oh so lovely train strikes of Italy.
